Community State Bank was founded in Starke in 1957 by people who wanted to give the residents of the area a choice of banks. Today, it is the only independent AND privately held bank in Bradford and Union counties. Community State Bank has remained true to the dream of its founders; to provide a service to the community in which they live and work. The directors, officers, and employees of Community State Bank are all local people. They attend church with many of the bank's customers; and their children and grandchildren attend school locally.
